Elmhurst Woman Lies to Cops About Her Pills Getting Stolen: Police

The Elmhurst woman's lie landed her in trouble with the law, police said.

An Elmhurst woman lied to the law about somebody stealing her pills from out of her car and was arrested when the cops figured out she was fibbing, police said.

Maria Graunke, 34, of 152 Maple St. was charged with disorderly conduct for her alleged prevarication to the police.

Graunke "came into the station to report a burglary to motor vehicle" about 3 p.m. Monday, police said.

"Graunke stated the suspects stole prescription pills from her vehicle," police said. "It was later determined that Graunke filed a false police report."

Graunke was released on bond.
