http://www.google.com/patents/US6630507 marijuana cures cancer, and has been patented by the US Government since 1942 cancer is big business, they have to protect their racket, and profit from both sides, and with soviet style state education you will grow up believing what is written in the NY times, which is owned by the same people who own the banks and the big pharma companies

"Who Breaks a Butterfly on a Wheel?"... Why are we ruining people's lives with silly pot busts?
Ronn Harris January 19, 2013 at 02:30 PM
Adam, like, wow, dude... It's candy. Like a brownie, or those amazing rice Krispy thingies. Quite messy if ya smoke them! And, if it doesn't really cure cancer, but eases the suffering, do you care? Listen VERY carefully to the Zantac commercial, a legal drug to help you stop smoking. Suicide cures smoking!
Jon January 19, 2013 at 02:40 PM
Sounds like a little more than your casual pot smoker; he has enough to be a neighborhood dealer.
Pete January 19, 2013 at 03:02 PM
Do you people have kids and live inf this neighborhood? I do and I really appreciate the police helping to remove this activity from my town where my kids play. I don't think we need pot laced candy around a neighborhood filled with children. That's why we moved to the suburbs.
Ronn Harris January 19, 2013 at 03:03 PM
We only use the metric system when it is convenient for drama and effect. Why don't they report the amount of pot in the candy by ounce? Was the candy marshmallow or dark chocolate? C'mon! Either report, or don't!
Ronn Harris January 19, 2013 at 03:18 PM
It helps the kiddies chill while mommy is drunk driving... If you moved to a leafy, safe suburb in Denver, it's legal. 7-11 sells cigarettes. Teach your children well... And if you appreciate police in the suburbs, google Schaumburg-police-drugs

Pete "My Town" Where do I sent the rent check to? Maybe I should say mortgage payment. Just kidding you but the over use of the word "my" seems to say something about the mindset of the world. "Our" and "We" seem more inclusive and less selfish. We need to understand the dynamics behind the continued demand for drugs and addictions of all types. Until that is understood and changed, this problem will continue to exist. I have my theories. Anybody care to offer their thoughts?
Pete January 19, 2013 at 03:38 PM
Hey Ronn that was quite eloquent. I would be just as upset if they selled ju ju bees lace with alcohol. I think you are missing the point. The problem is someone is selling adulterated candy containing a drug that even a stoner would admit is not appropriate for children.
NancyC January 19, 2013 at 03:42 PM
Why are our communities still funding DARE programs? That's the first intro kids in this area have to the drug culture and that program makes all drugs equally "vile". Just say'n let's be consistent cuz the kids see through it.
CPT. OBVIOUS January 19, 2013 at 04:01 PM
Just because its in a candy form does not mean its intended for children. I doubt they were on store shelves with marketing directed towards kids.
Ronn Harris January 19, 2013 at 04:15 PM
Hey, Pete; have you tried that yummy whipped cream flavored vodka? Also comes in Bubble Gum, Cherry, etc. not sure who the target audience is there, but you gotta be 21. I'd skip the brownies and booze calories for a healthy, no-cal doobie or bong...
Ronn Harris January 19, 2013 at 04:20 PM
Ummmm, my mommy told me not to take candy from strangers. Sound advice. Pass it along to your kids, Pete. We don't need the cops to do it, do we?
Your an Idiot January 19, 2013 at 08:29 PM
I know the kid...it wasn't like he was selling bags of candy to little kids out of his house...he was selling to people in college. I can see why they are making and example out of him though, he had been doing this for a very long time. I'm surprised it took him this long to get pinched. He is just lucky they didn't arrest him with more.
Ronn Harris January 20, 2013 at 05:37 AM
So, we've all decided, right? Legalize it so the strength, quality, and delivery is controlled. Tax the hell out of it to replace the declining cigarette revenue, and stop spending money on cops busting 18 year old kids. If you don't like abortion, or marihuana , don't get them! Minding your own business is a lost art. People will find a way to fulfill their wants or needs. Me? I'd personally rather have a Walgreens selling medicinal pot than a guy selling AK47s out of his car. Guess which one is legal?

Ronn Harris January 20, 2013 at 05:53 AM
Not sure what that means, buddy. Do you want me to be Mayor, or want me in jail?
john smith January 20, 2013 at 01:49 PM
take responsibility for your own life and your kids there are kids that live next to crack house but dont do crack why the parent took responsibility and taught them well. So blame the guy down the street if you want but you and you know who you are working so hard for that nice house in the nice neighborhood that you dont have time for your kids and start the blame game as for POT, CANNABIS, MARIJUANA. It does have a grate many use the candy is for the people that dont smoke Chemotherapy is a bitch and Glaucoma is not much fun ether and there is many other medical conditions that help or maybe they should take some thing like oxycontin which contains oxycodone. oxycontin is a prescribed drug. Oxycodone is a very strong narcotic addiction is 85% rate not so with pot o ya i have 5 kids that are adults now none of them are drug addicts

John smith i think you just had your chemotherapy OxyContin and oxycodone are 2 different drugs oxycodone is cut with minimum 325 milligrams of acetaminophen for minimum 5 milligrams of codeine OxyContin is pure pharmaceutical heroin no cutting agent. You would never know if someone was on a average amount of either drug the most concealable high on earth.

Elmhurst Police are a bad joke! This is a perfect example of "justifying" their small army of thugs and bullies. This is what they do when they can't fi d teenagers smoking in Wilder Park or playing loud music in their own homes. A pack of clowns. It would be funny except their is nothing funny about being in handcuffs.
Jim Court January 25, 2013 at 04:02 AM
Bob, That is a generalization. Every team and organization has some issues. We also have some very good officers who should not be lumped under your descriptions.
Stewart Levine January 25, 2013 at 11:19 AM
I would like to see the elmhurst police be-friend pot smokers and build relationships with them to help bust burglaries, or more serious crimes. Most police officers unfortunately today lack what they used to call "Discretion" the reason they wear black uniform's is because the police forces are being militarized. If instead of running up on a couple of teenagers at the park smoking pot they walked up and told them look you are 19 we don't care about the pot, we're just more interested in the house that got robbed for 40,000 in jewelry, they might get some leads and build some relationships. Remember these people live in the community and busting them for petty things like smoking pot is like busting jay walkers, and it is revenue generating sure, but it is petty, and un productive. I would rather see the police be more respected, rather than disliked... unfortunately by formenting a culture, and generation of young adults that don't trust the police, and dislike them, based on harsh treatment it is doing a dis-service in the long term. Remember, all officers have what is called "Discretion". If the cop said look I ran your name you are clean no trouble, just dont smoke here in the park here is your stuff, if you see any kids breaking into garages or vandalizing stuff let me know thats what im really looking for i bet you way more crimes would be solved.

Marijuana does NOT cure cancer. However, it does mitigate the nausea and lack of appetite associated with cancer treatments (chemotherapy) and other chemical medical treatments that are hard on the body.

Elmhurst garbage men with guns ruining more peoples lives. I try to avoid even driving through that phony town. Thats not living, talk about a miserable pplice state. All so they can try to hold on to some 1950s christian shanty irish utopia that never even existed. No thanks! Chicago and the suburbs are drowning under their own welfare state and prison industrial complex which breeds nothing but corruption
