Elmhurst Resident Arrested for Domestic Involving a Knife, Schick Hall RA Receives Death Threats

Domestic Battery

Alexander Jarnig, 23, 186 E. Fullerton, Elmhurst, was arrested after police responded to a call for a domestic battery involving a possible stabbing on the 100 block of East Fullerton at 8:21 p.m. March 6. A victim suffered minor cuts to his hands and was treated at the scene. Jarnig was charged with domestic battery and criminal damage to property. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Threat

A resident assistant at Schick Hall at Elmhurst College, 190 S. Prospect, received about 20 hang-up calls between 1:20 and 1:40 a.m. Feb. 23. On the last call, a male with a deep voice said, “I’m going to kill you.” The next day, the victim noticed that the decorations on her door were torn and another death threat was written on her dry-erase board. She doesn’t know of anyone who would want to harm her.

Warrant Arrests

Gene A. Carlson, 51, 705 W. Liberty, Wheaton, was arrested on a warrant out of DuPage County for failure to appear on a trespassing charge at 6:52 p.m. March 2. Police responded to Elmhurst Presbyterian Church, 367 S. Spring Road, for a report of a man who had fallen on the pavement. Police said Carlson strongly smelled of alcohol. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Sharon J. O’Toole, 21, 606 W. Lorraine, Elmhurst, was arrested at her home on two warrants for failure to appear on a charge of driving with a suspended license at 6:06 p.m. Feb. 27. She was released on bond.
