Elmhurst Police Respond to Reports of Commercial Burglaries

Thousands of dollars in loss and damage.

At 4:53 a.m. April 18, police responded to an active burglar alarm at Doti Liquors, 104 E. Fullerton Ave. They found the front window and the front glass door smashed, but nothing inside the store appeared to be disturbed. The rear steel door also was damaged. Surveillance video captured three subjects breaking the glass and attempting to pry the doors. Total damages are estimated at $3,500.

Someone burglarized Littman Industries, 529 W. Wrightwood, between 4:20 p.m. April 15 and 8:45 a.m. April 18, police said. A window at ground level was broken out and a $1,200 laptop was missing. Damage is estimated at $1,000. A window to the neighboring business, Midwest Technology, also was broken and two laptops worth $800 each were stolen. Damage to that window also is $1,000.
