Elmhurst Police Rescue Dog From Hot Car

Minooka man facing charges.

One furry friend is thankful the cops came along when they did, according to a recent Elmhurst police report.

Police were called to the 100 block of North York, where they said a dog was left in a vehicle, panting. Police determined the temperature was more than 86 degrees when they found him, at 4:05 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21. They removed the dog from the vehicle and took it to the police station.

Ryan J. Bachner, 29, 210 Slalom Court, Minooka, arrived a short time later to retrieve the dog. He was charged with leaving a dog in a hot vehicle and with not having rabies tags.
