Elmhurst Police Report Two Men Arrested For Possession of Heroin

Cannabis, alcohol, domestic battery and disorderly conduct arrests also reported.

Driving Under the Influence of Heroin
Randy Roewer, 30, 1821 Butterfield, Woodstock, and Joseph Gargano, 32, 1284 S. Ashley, Vernon Hills, were arrested for possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia after police pulled their vehicle over for speeding at Interstate 290 and Route 83 at 3:40 p.m. Oct. 10. Roewer, the driver, also was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs. Passenger Gargano allegedly had an open needle with suspect heroin residue on his lap. Police located four baggies of suspect heroin, a cooker and needles in the gas tank. They also discovered Gargano had a warrant for DUI out of Cook County. Both men were taken to DuPage County Jail.

DUI Arrests
Andrew C. Cowan, 68, 1236 Robinwood Drive Apt. A, Elgin, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without insurance and driving without a license after police stopped his gray Ford Ranger for going the wrong way on the expressway ramp at Interstate 290 and York Road at 12:22 a.m. Oct. 7. He was released on I-bond.

Shelly Fabbri, 46, 353 Country Club Drive, Addison, was arrested and charged with DUI and driving without insurance after police pulled over her gold Chevrolet Impala at York and Fremont at 1:27 a.m. Oct. 8. Police said Fabbri was driving the vehicle with a flat tire. She was released on I-bond.

Russell L. Richmond, 53, 3N444 Hickory Knoll Lane, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over his silver BMW for disobeying a traffic control device at North and Myrtle at 1:54 a.m. Oct. 8. He was released on bond.

Vanessa Miller, 24, 276 E. Alpine, Glendale Heights, was arrested and charged with DUI after police stopped her green Toyota RAV4 for driving without lights and improper lane use at North and York street 1:59 a.m. Oct. 9. She was released on bond.

Possession of Cannabis
Two 14-year-old boys were arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia after police saw them in Wilder Park, Prospect and Church, at 8:35 p.m. Oct. 8. They were released on bond.

Marcus McCallum, 23, 2026 S. 21st Ave., Broadview, was cited under city ordinance with possession of cannabis after police reportedly saw him at 12:56 a.m. Oct. 9 sitting in a vehicle at 958 Virginia Lane attempting to roll a cannabis blunt. He was released on I-bond.

Domestic Battery
Larelee Bird, 50, 241 N. West Ave., was arrested at home and charged with domestic battery at 4:04 p.m. Oct. 8. Bird was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Disorderly Conduct
Zacharey R. Crawford, 22, 245 W. Chestnut, Canton, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after police said he lunged at a person and grabbed his shirt at Fitz's Pub, 172 Addison, at 12:39 a.m. Oct. 7. He was released on bond.

Jessiaha Van Loon, 19 S. Jackson, Batavia, was charged with public intoxication at 5:17 p.m Oct. 8 after being kicked off the Metra. Van Loon was taken into custody on the train platform, 128 W. First St., and released on I-bond.

Daniel T. Edwards, 23, 725 S. Lombard, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after police saw him urinate in public at Charlie's, 124 S. York Road, at 1:54 a.m. Oct. 9. He was released on bond.
