Do you mean to tell me that over the course of 5 hours, only 2 DUI arrests were made?!!??! Probably 20 police officers, with 20 police vehicles, detaining hundreds of sober citizens with no reason of suspicion of any crime, and only 2 DUI arrests?!!??! If they would have taken the same 20 police officers and driven around Elmhurst near bars, from 11-4 am, 40 arrests could have been made. What a waste of resources including brains.

Just keep paying your taxes. Don't worry about those silly civil liberties. The government will decide wich ones you can have when it is most convenient for them. The forth amendment is trampled like a diry door mat. If I tell you I'm making you safer, will you give up more of your constitutional rights???

There's only one bar on Lake St., and it's dominated by non-Elmhurst residents after 10 p.m.
Just sayin... July 07, 2012 at 04:07 AM
Moral of the profiling? Stay the hell out of Elmhurst if you happen to be Hispanic.
Stewart Levine July 07, 2012 at 04:44 AM
funny actually, all those arrests seemed completely legitimate to me, obviously each case should be judged individually according to its own merits. wait till you get hit by an uninsured motorist, or your kid is riding his bike and an illegal immigrant comes and hits him DUI. There should be more of these safety checks given how out of control the economy is, the rule of law still exists, and when you start legalizing illegal immigration or allowing that many people to be driving vehicles without licenses, insurance, or actually being legitimate citizens understanding our language, laws and civic duties. then that is when you see this country going down the toilet. No such thing as profiling, if you are doing something wrong, stay in the ghetto where they are more worried about armed robberies, rapes, and kidnappings.
