Elmhurst Police Report Instances of Theft

Most of the thefts remain unsolved.

Theft Arrest

Asuncion de los Santos-Go, 41, 289 E. Irving Park Road Apt. A, Wood Dale, was charged with retail theft after she reportedly took a bra from Kohl’s, 303 S. Route 83, at 3:02 p.m. May 7. She was released on bond.

Someone used a Harris Bank debit card fraudulently to charge $503 on a victim’s account at 11:48 a.m. April 30.

Someone removed a purse containing an i-Phone, camera, drivers license, Coach wallet, Cubs tickets $50 and gift cards from a locker at a facility on the 100 block of Arthur Street between noon and 2:50 p.m. May 2.

Someone took a black North Face jacket and cell phone from behind the York High School bleachers, 355 W. St. Charles road, at 6 p.m. April 29. Loss is estimated at $100.

Someone broke the drivers front window of a vehicle parked at Arena Bar and Grill, 630 W. Lake St., between 10:15 and 10:35 p.m. May 7. A purse, laptop computer, notebook, North Face fleece jacket and other clothes were taken. Total loss is estimated at $1,054.

Someone broke the glass door to gain entry to Cyndi Nails, 563 N. York Road, between 5:30 p.m. May 7 and 10 a.m. May 8. Taken were an Apple iPad, Sony laptop, two televisions and $600.

A resident on the 100 block of East Oneida reported that while he was having a party, between 1 and 2 a.m. May 8, he noticed his blue Toshiba laptop valued at $500 was missing from his home.

Someone removed a wallet out of a vehicle that was parked on the 100 block of South West Avenue between 7:57 and 9 a.m. May 9. When the victim returned to the car, she noticed the rear drivers vent window had been broken. The wallet contained four credit cards, a drivers license and $50.

Someone removed a C-Pack medical breathing apparatus from a black backpack that was left outside an apartment on the 400 block of South Spring Road sometime between March 5 and 8. The report was made at 9:24 a.m. May 10. The victim said she left the backpack because she was not feeling well, and when she went to retrieve it, the backpack was missing. The victim is disabled and her neighbors often take out her garbage, which she leaves outside her door. She said they may have mistaken the backpack for garbage. The C-pack is valued at $1,500.
