Elmhurst Police Report Forgery, Identity Theft, Graffiti and License Violations

Cannabis also allegedly found on woman driving without a license.

Forgery

Police believe they know who last month stole $525 from Lover Cigar, 176 N. York Road. A store employee checked the account balances and found two withdrawals, for $250 and $275, that he did not make. The bank had surveillance of the woman cashing the checks, and she matches a description of the girlfriend of one of the store's regular customers. The woman was in the store on April 23 and used the restroom at the rear of the store. The victim filed the report on May 3. An investigation is pending.

Identity Theft

A resident of the 700 block of North Adele Street reported that she was contacted by a representative of DTE Energy Co., based in Michigan, who told her she was late on payments. She discovered someone was using her maiden name and Social Security number. She reported the incident to police on May 3.

A resident of the 500 block of North Willow reported on May 3 that someone opened several credit cards and retail bank card accounts in their name.

Someone defaced the Schiller parking deck, 118 E. Schiller St., with graffiti between 10 a.m. May 2 and 10:17 a.m. May 3. Symbols were found at the main entrance of the parking deck. Upon examining the surrounding area, police discovered more graffiti at 149 N. York, and at York and Schiller.

Driving With a Suspended License

Juan Suarez-Arreola, 21, 4219 S. Kedzie, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license after police pulled over his orange BMW 318i for a loud muffler at Schiller and York at 8:12 p.m. April 28. He also was charged with driving without insurance and failure to secure a child under age 8 in a child restraint. He was released on I-bond.

Charice Rush, 25, 120 E. George St. Apt. 209, Bensenville, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license after police pulled her over for driving with one headlight at York and Diversey at 12:14 a.m. May 2. She also had a warrant out of Bensenville and was turned over to the Bensenville Police Department.

Keith Pridgeon, 32, 1833 S. 18th, Maywood, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance after police pulled over his silver Honda Passport for disobeying a traffic signal at Route 83 and Riverside Drive at 12:38 a.m. May 3. He was released on I-bond and his vehicle towed for forfeiture.

Cynthia G. Moreno, 20, 160 Golfview Drive, Northlake, was arrested and charged with driving without a license and possession of cannabis after police pulled over her silver Ford Taurus for driving on the shoulder at Route 83 and St. Charles Road at 7:36 a.m. May 2. She was released on bond.
