Elmhurst Police Report DUI, Drug and Warrant Arrests

The following arrest information was supplied by the Elmhurst Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

DUI Arrests

Joseph D. Monaghan, 28, 15W321 Harvard, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police pulled over his silver Mazda 6 at Bryan and Van Buren for disobeying a traffic control device, improper right turn and expired registration at 3:53 a.m. Jan. 12. He was released on bond.

Renee E. Cortez, 49, 1N641 Villa Ave., Villa Park, was arrested and charged with DUI and driving without insurance after his black GMC Yukon struck a electric utility pole and city street light at Villa Avenue and St. Charles Road at 12:15 p.m. Jan. 12. Cortez was released on bond.

Michael Knapp, 26, 1225 Lakeside Lane, Carol Stream, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over his silver Mercedes Benz for disobeying a traffic control device at West Avenue and St. Charles Road at 4:42 a.m. Jan. 15. He also was charged with failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and expired registration. He was released on I-bond.

Possession of Cannabis

Thomas Fernandez, 32, 18 N. Wisconsin, Addison, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and open alcohol after police found him parked illegally in a silver Suzuki Grand Vitara at York and Second streets at 3:47 p.m. Jan. 18. Police also discovered he had a warrant for contempt of court out of DuPage County. He was released on bond. A passenger in the car, Mark Rosenquist, 44, 17W240 Oakdale, Bensenville, was cited for illegal transportation of alcohol and released at the scene.

Warrant Arrests

Christopher K. Marquez, 32,  1515 E. 31st St., LaGrange Park, was arrested and charged with obstructing justice after police pulled over his black Toyota Solara for no seat belt and littering at Orchard and York at 2:08 a.m. Jan. 9. Marquez provided the officer with a false name and date of birth. Police discovered he had a warrant for failure to appear on a larceny charge out of Bedford Park. He also had a suspended license. He was turned over to Bedford Park police.

James M. Bolden, 20, 525 S. Illinois, Villa Park, was arrested on a warrant out of DuPage County after police pulled over his gray Jeep Cherokee for expired plates on the 700 block of North Avenue at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 11. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Mikkhel Lawrence-Harve, 20, 868 S. Spring Road, turned herself in on a failure to appear warrant out of DuPage County at 6:27 p.m. Jan. 12. She was released on bond.

Adolfo Gomez, 51, 550 W. Grand Ave. Apt. 224, Elmhurst, was arrested after police investigated a suspicious vehicle at Extended Stay America, 550 W. Grand Ave., at 4:49 p.m. Jan. 15. Gomez and another person were dumping garbage into the dumpster. It was determined they were guests at the hotel and had a right to use the dumpster, but Gomez had a failure to appear warrant out of DuPage County. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.
