Elmhurst Police Report DUI and Other Alcohol-related Arrests

DUI Arrests

Jose Diaz, 32, 120 S. Lincoln Apt. 2B, Addison, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without a license after police pulled over his Nissan Pathfinder for improper lane use at 681 W. North Ave. at 1:24 a.m. Nov. 7. He was released on bond.

Leon Hopkins, 35,  1733 E. 84th St., Chicago, was arrested and charged with DUI after police responded to a call for a subject passed out behind the wheel of a tan Chevrolet Venture at York and Park at 1:40 a.m. Nov. 8. He was released on bond.

Lori Steinhagan, 55, 4401 Maple, Stickney, was arrested and charged with DUI and possession of cannabis after police pulled over her black Jeep Wrangler for speeding and driving without headlights at North and Route 83 at 12:53 a.m. Nov. 9. She was released on bond.

Jacob Kowalski, 20, 925 N. East Ave., Oak Park, was arrested and charged with DUI, driving without insurance and consumption of alcohol by a minor after police pulled over his red Saab for improper lane use at Diversey and York at 2:06 a.m. Nov. 10. He was released on bond.

Sierra Stegall, 20, 214 S. 17th St., Maywood, was arrested and charged with DUI and consumption of alcohol by a minor on the 400 block of West Lake Street at 2:23 a.m. Nov. 10. She was released on bond.

Other Alcohol Arrests

Willie T. Scott, 35, 606 S. Wisconsin, Addison, was cited for disorderly conduct and possession of alcohol in public after police received a report of a subject urinating in public on the 100 block of East Schiller at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 1. Police said Scott was in the passenger seat of a vehicle drinking from a bottle of vodka. He was released on bond at the scene to family members.

Mark V. Malchert, 56, 207 Hampshire, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with possession of alcohol on public property after police responded to a report of a suspicious person leaning against a tree on the Prairie Path at 9:09 a.m. Nov. 5. He was released on bond.

Laura Flitter, 25, 550 W. Grand Ave., Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with pedestrian under the influence of alcohol after police said she was found stumbling in the road at Industrial and Diversey at 9:10 p.m. Nov. 5. She was released on bond.

Steven Southwell, 35, 428 W. Grantley, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with public intoxication after police said they found him laying on the parkway at North and Elm at 11:37 p.m. Nov. 6. He was taken to the hospital and released on bond.

Robert Lee Baldwin, 64, 320 George St., Bensenville, was arrested and charged with possession of alcohol in public after police responded to a report of an intoxicated person sleeping next to a garbage can on the 400 block of North York at 7:26 a.m. Nov. 6. He was released at the scene. 

Bradley Earls, 52, 703 Liberty, Wheaton, was arrested and charged with public intoxication and open alcohol in public after police said he was found sleeping in front of Dominick's at 8:49 p.m. Nov. 9. He was released on bond.
