Elmhurst Police Report Arrests for Theft and Disorderly Conduct

Woman gets a visit from fake Tribune salesmen, man mad at ATM machine because it didn't dispense money fast enough.

Theft Arrests

David Mason, 21, 14316 S. Dearborn, Riverdale, was arrested and charged with theft after an incident on the 200 block of Winthrop at 6 p.m. May 14. A resident told police four solicitors came to her home trying to sell her a subscription to the Chicago Tribune. After they left, she noticed her iPod Touch was missing. When police located the men, Mason was in possession of the iPod. Police also discovered that Mason, along with Cortez F. Tate, 19, 8810 S. Elizabeth, Chicago; Corey L. Tate, 19, 8810 S. Elizabeth, Chicago; and David D. Morgon, 19, 7524 N. Damen, Chicago, had been fired by the Tribune and were still using Tribune ID badges. They all were charged with soliciting without a permit. They were released on bond.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested and charged with retail theft at Kmart, 265 S. Route 83, at 8:08 p.m. May 14. When police arrived, the boy had fled but his friends located him and he returned to the store with a stolen set of headphones worth $12.99. He was released on I-bond to his parents.

Disorderly Conduct Arrests

Steven J. Koscik, 31, 660 S. Bryan, Elmhurst, was arrested and cited under city ordinance for disorderly conduct after he attempted to gain access to a vehicle on the 800 block of South Saylor. He reportedly told police he had been at Fitz’s Pub, had too much to drink and could not remember how he got there. He was released on I-bond.
