Elmhurst Police Report Arrests for Heroin, DUI During Stepped-up Enforcement Campaign

More police officers will be on the streets through the enforcement period, which ends after St. Patrick's Day.

Elmhurst police are in the middle of an enhanced DUI enforcement campaign, which will run through Monday, March 18. Police are stepping up patrols through the St. Patrick's Day holiday, especially between the hours of 11 p.m. and 3 a.m.

The following arrests for drug and alcohol offenses were made during the enforcement period.

Aggravated DUI Arrest

Arturo E. Felix, 28, 307 Hale St. Apt. 1, Addison, is facing multiple charges after he was pulled over by Elmhurst police for a traffic violation at 1:41 a.m. March 9. He was charged with speeding, driving with a revoked license, aggravated DUI and transportation of alcohol. He was taken to DuPage County Jail, where he is being held on $5,000 bond. Karen: Have noticed that at times you don't publish the names and address' of underage drinkers, but you do for a majority of them. Are the ones not published friends or relatives of influential people? You would think to be consistent, you would publish all the facts no matter who is involved!

What I've been doing for the past couple of years is publishing the names of those charged with underage drinking if there are additional charges involved, such as DUI or drug possession. I wouldn't even know who the friends and relatives of "influential people" are. Thanks for you comments.

I hope the Elmhurst Patch goes bankrupt

Karen: I've been following this because some neighborhood friends of ours had the name and address of their daughter published for underage drinking when that was all she was accused of (she was also 20 at the time). The driver of the car, like the scenario above with the 20 year old passenger, was charged with a DUI, but yet this poor girls name and address was published. I know her family had an embarrassing time over this because many Elmhurst parents love to judge a person based on what they read in the patch.

Karen: Thanks and I feel I voiced my opinion on what I observed. I will however pass your email onto my neighbor in case they have any questions or concerns. Thanks.

to Tom Johnson, why do you want the Patch to go bankrupt? Because it tells us the facts. To Arturo - repeat DUI offenders are not welcome in Elmhurst, stay the He** out of Elmhurst.
