Elmhurst Police Report Arrests for DUI, Drugs, Trespassing

Items pulled from the Elmhurst Police blotter April 29-May 3.

UPDATE May 28, 2012: In December 2011, Cole Ciangi-Bachtell pleaded guilty to misdemeanor reckless driving. He was placed on court supervision for a year, and all other charges were dismissed.

Drug Possession

Alex J. Mika, 18, 330 S. Lombard St., Lombard, was arrested and charged with speeding and possession of alcohol by a minor after a traffic stop at 8:30 p.m. April 30 at North Avenue and Addison Street. A 30-pack of beer was found in the trunk. A passenger in the vehicle, Joseph R. Chovan, 18, 507 W. Eugenia, Lombard, was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were released on I-bond.

Noel Guzman, 23, 1814 W. Armitage, Melrose Park, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis after a traffic stop for speeding at 1:42 a.m. May 1 at North and West avenues. She was released on I-bond.

Trespassing

Moses Suleiman, 20, 1644 Bracken Road, Bloomfield Hills, Mich., was charged with trespass to property at 10:29 a.m. May 3. Suleiman had been evicted from Elmhurst College student housing, 311 S. West Ave., and was found to have returned to the residence and had been staying there since April 26. Police also found a glass smoking pipe in the apartment. In addition to trespassing, he was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on I-bond.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Jose A. Bolado, 45, 605 Glenwood Lane, Lombard, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and on an outstanding warrant at 2:57 a.m. April 29. Police were called for a report of a verbal domestic argument when they found Bolado walking westbound on North Avenue at Route 83. They discovered he had a valid failure to appear warrant for DUI. A search of Bolado revealed a glass smoking pipe. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

DUI Arrests

Lauren M. Porto, 22, 23W234 Windsor Drive, Glen Ellyn, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use, speeding and having an obstructed view after a traffic stop at 3:55 a.m. April 29 at Riverside Drive and Route 83. She was released on bond.

Bozidar Skoric, 35, 120 W. Diversy, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with DUI, speeding, improper lane use and no insurance after a traffic stop at Grand Avenue and York Road at 12:37 a.m. April 30. He was released on I-bond.

Cole Ciangi-Bachtell, 24, 1205 Ogden, Western Springs, was arrested and charged with DUI, failure to stop at an intersection, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and no insurance after an accident at St. Charles and Cottage Hill roads at 12:43 a.m. April 30. Ciangi-Bachtell and an 18-year-old victim were taken to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained in the accident.

Samuel Escalera, 28, 1217 W. 58th Ave., Cicero, was arrested and charged with DUI, improper lane use and speeding after a traffic stop at North Avenue and Interstate 290 at 1:42 a.m. April 30. He was released on bond.

Przemyslaw W. Pajcz, 27, 1200 Quincy Court, Wheeling, was arrested and charged with DUI after police received a call for a suspicious vehicle at 4:15 a.m. April 30 at Corner Cottage Liquors, 526 W. North Ave. He was released on I-bond.

Isiah Ortiz, 19, 311 Trask St., Aurora, was arrested and charged with DUI after a traffic stop for improper parking on the roadway at 1:04 a.m. May 1 at Third and Addison streets. He was released on bond.

Christopher L. Jones, 27, 631 Grosnevor Lane, Aurora, was arrested and charged with DUI after a traffic stop at 3:48 a.m. May 1 at Roosevelt and York roads. He was released on I-bond.

Renee L. Ray, 37, 198 N. Highland, Elmhurst, was arrested and cited under city ordinance for DUI, speeding and driving without insurance after a traffic stop at Second and Myrtle streets at 1:09 a.m. May 2. She was released on bond.
