Elmhurst Police Report Arrests for DUI and Possession of Cannabis

Several suspects charged are minors.

DUI Arrests

Patrick J. Szwankowski, 23, 751 Dennis Drive, Bensenville, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia after police pulled over his tan Chevrolet Cavalier for speeding and improper lane use on Roosevelt Road between Interstate 88 and York Road at 3:56 a.m. Aug. 3. He was released on I-bond.

Jacquelyn Gonzalez, 27, 1023 Briarbrook, Wheaton, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over her Dodge Intrepid for speeding and disregarding a stop sign at Haven and Schiller at 2:08 a.m. Aug. 4. She was released on bond.

Jennifer L. Doornbosch, 21, 6231 Springside Ave., Downers Grove, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over her Pontiac Grand Prix for improper lane use and speeding at St. Charles and Summit at 12:36 a.m. Aug. 7. She was released on I-bond.

Possession of Cannabis

A group of teens were arrested and cited for possession of cannabis after police received a call about kids smoking cannabis while driving in a Volkswagon Passat at York and Van Buren at 6:16 p.m. Aug. 4. Four 16-year-old boys were cited for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia and released to their parents. One of the four, the driver, also was charged with following too close.

Alberto Godinez, 20, 11335 Pine, Somonauk, and Juan Aceves, 21, 1229 Jericho, Aurora, were arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia after police pulled over their Chevrolet Impala for speeding at Interstate 290 and York Road at 6:15 p.m. Aug. 6. Aceves also was charged with driving with a suspended license. They were released on I-bond.

Cassandra R. Belau, 25, 341 S. Ardmore Apt. 2R, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving without insurance and attempted obstruction of justice after police pulled over her red Suzuki for improper lane use at St. Charles and Villa at 6:48 p.m. Aug. 6. A passenger, Shaun P. McHugh, 24, 1800 N. 34th St., Stone Park, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were released on I-bond.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

A 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after police stopped the car he was riding in for doing more than 65 miles per hour in a 45-mph zone at North Avenue and Route 83 at 6:18 p.m. Aug. 7. He was released on I-bond to his parents. The driver, Robert M. Zech, 20, 447 S. Stewart Ave., Lombard, was cited for speeding and released at the scene.

Possession of Alcohol by a Minor

Zachary Rutledge, 22, 800 S. Vermilion, Paxton, was charged with possession of alcohol in a motor vehicle and delivering alcohol to minors after police saw him drinking with two other people in the parking lot at the Clarion Hotel, 933 Riverside Drive, at 11:32 p.m. Aug. 2. He was released on I-bond. Ian Vanagaitis, 20, 422 N. Elm, Monticello, was charged with possession of alcohol by a minor and obstructing identification after he gave police a false date of birth. He was released on bond. Jesse Wrench, 19, 988 E. 2100N Road, Monticello, was charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor and released on I-bond.
