Elmhurst Police Report Arrests for Drugs and Alcohol

Arrests are for DUI, drug possession and underage drinking.

DUI Arrests

Mark J. Medina, 36, 4507 S. Spaulding #1, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after an incident at 12:47 a.m. April 12 at the Elmhurst YMCA, 211 W. First St. Police found Medina sitting in his vehicle, which was parked halfway on the street and half on the driveway of the YMCA. He was released on bond.

Jeffery B. McClurkin, 23, 114 N. Parkside #107, Chicago, was arrested and charged under local ordinance with DUI, failure to signal and operating an uninsured vehicle after a traffic stop at 3:36 a.m. April 15 at Brush Hill and Euclid. He was released on bond.

Tom Buresh, 26, 360 Prairie Knoll, Naperville, was arrested and charged with DUI and driving without headlights after a traffic stop at St. Charles and Berkley at 2:26 a.m. April 17. He was released on I-bond.

Vanessa Soler, 28, 2233 Vermillion St., Lake Station, Ind., was arrested and charged with DUI and speeding after a traffic stop at St. Charles and York roads at 3:56 a.m. April 17. She was released on I-bond.

Drug Possession

A 17-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy were arrested after an incident at 7 Eleven, 572 S. York St. at 3:34 a.m. April 12. Police saw the two run across York Street and stopped them for curfew violation. At the station, it was discovered the girl had pills, two cannabis smoking pipes, suspect cannabis and a pack of cigarettes. She also had a juvenile warrant for domestic battery. She was taken to the DuPage County Youth Home. The boy was charged with curfew violation and released to his mother.

Simon Cervania, 27, 1N543 Creekside Court, Lombard was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and possession of cannabis after a traffic stop at St. Charles Road and Holly Street at 10:25 p.m. April 16. He was released on I-bond.

Zachary Wagner, 18, 173 Hampshire, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis after police received a call for a person smoking cannabis in the back yard of a home on the 300 block of South Poplar at 6:08 p.m. April 18. Police said Wagner was in possession of two small bags of cannabis. He was released on I-bond. A 16-year-old girl also was arrested and charged with possession of tobacco. She was released to her mother.

Possession of Alcohol by a Minor

A car full of people were charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor after a traffic stop for too many people in the vehicle at 12:03 a.m. April 9 at York and Lexington streets. Charged were Courtney L. Classen, 20, 190 S. Prospect Ave. #213; Hannah M. Lessen, 19, 8313 Idlewood Drive, Bloomington; Elise A. Cregg, 19, 1629 Hawthorne Lane, Glenview; Anita Hernandez, 18, 5430 W. Market, Indianapolis; and a 17-year-old boy from Florida. The driver had not consumed alcohol and was released without charges.
