Elmhurst Police Report Arrests for Domestic Battery, DUI and Drugs

Eleven arrests for DUI since the first of the month.

Domestic Battery

Frank W. Folliard, 19, 743 Spring Road, was arrested and charged with domestic battery at his home at 12:47 p.m. March 7. He was taken to the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. A semi-automatic rifle was taken from him and is being held for safe keeping. He was later taken to DuPage County Jail.

Gordon G. Hoppe, 55, 517 N. Warwick Ave., Westmont, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use and driving with no insurance after a traffic stop at 1:22 a.m. March 1 at Butterfield and Roosevelt roads. While he was in the squad car on the way to the police department, officers discovered blood above Hoppe’s eye and on his cheek. Hoppe reportedly did not know how the injury occurred. He was taken to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.

Christine M. Kaepplinger, 19, 1918 Victoria Road, Mundelein, was arrested and charged with DUI and consumption of alcohol by a minor after police responded to a call for a suspicious vehicle at 2:12 a.m. March 2 at York and Church streets. She was released on I-bond.

Lisa M. Fagiano, 27, 161 W. Harrison St., Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with DUI and improper lane use after a traffic stop at Butterfield and York roads at 3:32 a.m. March 3. She was released on I-bond.

Marissa N. Hudson, 23, 4209 Chesapeake, Aurora, was arrested and charged with DUI, speeding and driving without insurance after a traffic stop at Butterfield and Hillcrest at 3:54 a.m. March 3. She was released on I-bond.

Tara L. Tyson, 29, 3967 Vesper Court, Naperville, was arrested and charged with DUI and failure to signal after a traffic stop at Roosevelt and York roads at 3:19 a.m. March 4. She was released on I-bond.

Thomas Hermanek, 55, 194 Kenmore, was arrested and charged with DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and unauthorized parking in a handicap parking space after he was involved in an accident at 5:37 p.m. March 4. 

Thomas E. Dec, 56, 59 W. Walnut, Roselle, was arrested and charged with DUI, improper lane use and driving without insurance after a traffic stop at Lake Street and Route 83 at 11:43 p.m. March 4. He was released on I-bond.

Andrew K. Martino, 29, 4735 Yender Ave. #4, Lisle, was arrested and charged with DUI, improper lane use and driving with a suspended license after a traffic stop at Roosevelt Road and Route 83 at 3:53 a.m. March 5. He was released on I-bond.

Jaycie L. Kurfess, 24, 911 N. Chicago Ave., Arlington Heights, was arrested and charged under local ordinance with DUI and improper lane use after a traffic stop at 1:59 a.m. at York and I-290. She was released on I-bond. 

Candace Utley, 27, 611 Hopsfield Lane #104, Buffalo Grove, was arrested and charged with DUI, possession of cannabis and improper lane use after a traffic stop at 2:26 a.m. at North Avenue and Route 83. Police reportedly also found 4 grams of cannabis in the car. She was released on I-bond.

Mary E. Corlett, 49, 277 Grace Ave., was arrested and charged with DUI, speeding and driving without insurance after a traffic stop at Spring Road and Crescent Avenue at 1:19 a.m. March 7. She was released on I-bond.

Drug Arrests

Derek J. Edwards, 18, 1027 Oak Ridge Drive, Streamwood, and Bryan A. Proskey, 18, 7563 Northway Drive, Hanover Park, were arrested and charged under city ordinance with possession of cannabis after police observed their vehicles in the McDonald’s parking lot, 920 N. York Road, at 10:32 p.m. March 4. Joshua A. Gregg, 21, 2837 Louis St., Franklin Park, was found to be in possession of a glass smoking pipe and was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. All were released on I-bond.

Alexander D. Jarnig, 21, 186 E. Fullerton, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and failure to signal after a traffic stop at Mitchell and McKinley streets at 5:14 p.m. March 7. He was released on I-bond.
