Elmhurst Police Report Arrests for Domestic Battery, DUI, Drug Possession

The following arrest information was supplied by the Elmhurst Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

DUI Arrests

Kelly A. Schweigert, 36, 113 W. Park Circle Drive #202, Wheaton, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use, failure to signal and operating an uninsured vehicle after a traffic stop at 4:19 a.m. June 10 at Route 83 and Washington Street. She was released on I-bond.

Peter Alfini, 45, 261 Elm Park Ave., was arrested and charged with DUI, improper parking, no insurance and expired registration after a traffic stop at First and Maple at 3:22 a.m. June 11. He was released on I-bond.

Possession of a Controlled Substance

Jeffrey B. Borski, 44, 447 W. Moreland, Addison, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and attempted theft after an incident at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital, 200 N. Berteau, at 5:10 a.m. June 11. Witnesses told police Borski had removed several medication vials from a sealed supply cabinet and attempted to conceal them. He was released on I-bond.

Jamie L. Hardgrave, 33, 8509 Memory Trail, Wonder Lake, and Wayne L. Flaske, 39, 4508 Garden Quarter Road, McHenry, were arrested after a traffic stop at Interstate 290 and Route 83 at 6:38 p.m. June 13. Felske was seen throwing a glass pipe out of the window of the vehicle. Hardgrave, the driver, was allegedly found to have snorted heroin. Hardgrave had a warrant out of DuPage County for failure to appear on a charge for possession of drug paraphernalia. A glass pipe with crack cocaine residue was recovered on the side of the road. Falske was charged with possession of a controlled substance, obstructing justice and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to DuPage County Jail. Hardgrave was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, improper lane use, no insurance, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and driving with a revoked license. She was issued an I-bond on the charges and taken to DuPage County Jail on the warrant.

John Ostrander, 29, 68 Sycamore Lane, Crystal Lake; Melanie Schroeder, 45, 709 N. State, Marengo; and Dannielle Gonzalez, 27, 1014 ½ State St., DeKalb, all were taken to DuPage County Jail after an incident at 3:14 p.m. June 14 at Interstate 290 and Route 83. After a traffic stop for speeding, Ostrander, the driver, and both passengers were found to be in possession of heroin. All were charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ostrander also was charged with speeding and had a warrant out of Kane County.

Possession of Cannabis

A 17-year-old boy was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and possession of tobacco after a traffic stop at Grantley and West at 10:33 p.m. June 7. He was released on I-bond to his mother.

A 14-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy were arrested and charged under city ordinance with possession of cannabis after they were seen with another male hiding behind a park district building at Wilder Park, Prospect and Church streets, at 7:26 p.m. June 8. Police learned that they had been smoking pot, and one of the boys was in possession of tobacco. They were released on I-bonds.

Jerod M. Peters, 22, 1267  N. Springfield #2, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license, no insurance, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop for driving with one headlight at 12:49 a.m. June 12 at Lake Street and West Avenue. He was released on bond.

Domestic Battery

Benjamin D. LeFevre, 24, 291 S. Pick St., was arrested and charged with domestic battery at 1:43 a.m. June 12 at his home. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Battery Arrest

Samuel P. Rinella, 26, 1531 Monroe Ave., River Forest, was arrested and charged with battery after an incident at Charlie’s, 122 S. York Road, at 12:31 a.m. June 11. When police arrived, Rinella had fled the scene in a taxi, which police stopped at Cottage Hill and Church streets. While inside Charlie’s the victim allegedly was struck by Rinella in the face, causing a bruise. Rinella was released on bond.

Disorderly Conduct

Three 17-year-old boys were charged with disorderly conduct for discuarging a firearm after a victim called police saying he had been shot by a BB gun at 9:32 p.m. June 10. The victim said the shots were fired from a white four-door sedan occupied by three boys. One of the teens reportedly admitted he and his friends shot the BB gun. They were released on I-bonds to their parents.

Contact with a Registered Sex Offender

Kenneth Flowers, 35, 822 N. Lombard, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and on a warrant for violation of sex offender registration after an incident at 11:44 a.m. June 12 at North End and Adele. Police responding to a call for a suspicious person saw Flowers park a green jeep in the area and walk down the 800 block of Lombard. He returned to the vehicle a few minutes later. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.
