Elmhurst Police Report Arrests for Cannabis, Disorderly Conduct

Two baggies containing drugs also were found in Washington Park.

Possession of Cannabis

Rene De La Rosa, 19, 731 N. Van Auken, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and possession of stolen property at Wilder Park, Prospect and Church, at 12:47 a.m. Aug. 7. Police said he had a pink Schwinn bicycle that allegedly was stolen from East End Park about a month ago. He was released on bond.

Jonathan Olmo, 21, 731 N. Van Auken, Elmhurst, was cited for public intoxication and disturbing the peace on the 700 block of North Van Auken at 3:24 a.m. July 31. He was released at the scene on bond.

Larry D. Ellis, 57, 6425 S. Lowe Apt. 911, Chicago, was charged with disorderly conduct and open alcohol after police said he was found "highly intoxicated" at First and York at 10:21 a.m. Aug. 2. He was released on bond.

Robert J. Calusinski, 62, 558 Babcock, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after police say he threatened to light victims on fire at 7:51 p.m. Aug. 4. He was released on bond.

Warrant Arrests

Rafael Romero, 35, 30305 Central Park Ave., Chicago, was arrested on a warrant out of Cook County after police responded to the 700 block of Church Road for a customer dispute at 11:13 a.m. July 22. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Soliciting Without a Permit

Deandre R. Relerford, 25, 267 Bullington, Memphis, Tenn., was cited for soliciting without a permit at Larch and Third at 7:36 p.m. July 20. He was released at the scene.

Ordinance Violations

Miguel Huerta, 50, 1027 Rolling Drive, Lisle, was cited for construction work after hours on the 600 block of West Utley at 6:15 p.m. Aug. 7. He was released at the scene.

Filberto Rojas-Castro, 32, 1101 Portsmouth Ave., Westchester, was cited for construction work after hours on the 400 block of Argyle at 7:39 p.m. Aug. 7. He was released at the scene.

Man Runs from Police

An Elmhurst police officer tried to talk with a man about 18 years old, who was on a bike on the 300 block of Grace Street at 1:09 a.m. Aug. 8. The subject dropped the bike and fled on foot and was not located. The Novara Portal gray men's mountain bike was placed into evidence.

Drugs Found in Washington Park

A man walking in Washington Park, Poplar and May streets, at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 8, said he found two plastic bags. One contained suspect cannabis, and the other contained an unknown substance.
