Elmhurst Police Report Arrests for Battery and Possession

Disorderly conduct also reported; police found man lying on parkway.

Battery at PADS

John E. Keeler, 45, 703 W. Liberty, Wheaton, was arrested and charged with battery at the PADS shelter at Elmhurst Presbyterian Church, 367 S. Spring Road, at 6:11 p.m. Nov. 19. He was released on bond.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Mir Akram Ali, 24, 341 E. Madison, Lombard, was arrested and cited under city ordinance for possession of drug paraphernalia after police stopped his vehicle during a roadside safety check at North Avenue and Melrose at 1:07 a.m. Nov. 18. Police found a glass smoking pipe in his vehicle. Mir H. Ali, 18, of the same address, was cited for failure to wear a seat belt. They both were released on bond.

Possession of Cannabis

A 17-year-old boy was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia after police pulled him over for no front plate at 4:24 p.m. Nov. 18 at Randolph and Fairview. He was released on I-bond.

Sir Charles D. Bland, 31, 1919 Wold Road, Hillside, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis after police pulled over his red Audi Q7 for improper lane use and suspended registration at Monterey and Roosevelt at 12:35 a.m. Nov. 20. A cannabis "blunt" was found in the center console underneath the dashboard controls. He was released on bond.

Two 14-year-old boys and a 16-year-old boy were arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug equipment after police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle at 12:15 a.m. Nov. 20 at 186 S. West Ave. Police also found a medicine bottle containing a yellow/white powder that was sent to the lab. The three teens were released on I-bond to their parents. A fourth suspect was released without charges pending lab results.

DUI Arrests

James W. Kucera, 68, 1155 David Drive, Bensenville, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without insurance after police pulled over his green Nissan Maxima for improper lane use at Route 83 and Second Street at 1:15 a.m. Nov. 19. He was released on I-bond.

Frank R. Gonzalez, 26, 818 N. Lombard, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with DUI after police received a call of an intoxicated driver. Police located his black Ford Explorer in the parking lot at CVS, North Avenue and York Road, at 2:11 a.m. He was released on I-bond.

Edaena Roman, 32, 4616 S. Keating Ave., Chicago, was arrested and charged with DUI, improper lane use, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, illegal transportation of alcohol and no insurance after police pulled over his red Ford Explorer for speeding at North Avenue and Route 83 at 4:26 a.m. Nov. 19. He was released on I-bond.

William A. Keenon, 30, 123 Blecke Apt. 1, Addison, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over his silver Chevrolet Malibu for speeding at Third and West Avenue at 1:37 a.m. Nov. 20. He was released on I-bond.

Marbella Garcia, 18, 18W164 Standish Lane, Villa Park, was arrested and charged with zero tolerance DUI after police pulled over her gray Dodge Ram for speeding and improper lane use at 3:05 a.m. Nov. 20 at Roosevelt and Villa. She was released on I-bond.

Shiv Chawla, 59, 6434 N. Maplewood, Chicago, was arrested and charged with DUI and parking on a roadway after police stopped his silver Chevy Uplander at North Avenue and Route 83 at 3:21 a.m. Nov. 20. He was released on bond.

Alex P. Klasen, 28, 612 Irving, Berkely, was arrested and charged with public intoxication after police responded for an ambulance assist to Church and York at 1:38 a.m. Nov. 19. Police allegedly found Klasen unconscious, lying in the parkway. He was released on I-bond.
