Elmhurst Police Make Arrests for Retail Theft at Kohl's, Dominick's, Kmart, Shell

Retail Theft Arrests

Kelly A. Spiros, 51, 327 Princeton, Villa Park, was arrested and charged with retail theft after she allegedly took nearly $500 worth of merchandise from Kohl's, 303 S. Route 83, at 2:12 p.m. July 30. Police said she also was seen drinking alcohol in the parking lot. Employees followed her as she drove from the parking lot and parked her vehicle near a dumpster down the street. She was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Edward Perales, 29, no address given, was arrested and charged with one count of burglary and one count of retail theft after he allegedly stole nearly $500 worth of baby formula from Dominick's, 215 S. Route 83, at 2:32 p.m. July 27. Police said Perales ran from police, but he was apprehended on the Prairie Path just west of Route 83. Police said Perales also was identified as the offender in previous thefts of baby formula at Dominick's, at 2:21 p.m. July 24 and at 1:48 p.m. July 25. Surveillance video was provided to police.

Kanchan R. Sehdev, 50, 302 S. Illinois, Villa Park, was arrested and charged with retail theft after she allegedly stole $30 worth of merchandise from Kmart, 265 S. Route 83, at 2:10 p.m. July 30. She was released on bond.

Several people were arrested after a theft at the Shell station, 654 W. North Ave., at 3:35 a.m. July 31. Police responded to a call for a theft of a carton of cigarettes and were able to track down the offenders vehicle, a green Oldsmobile Intrigue. James Wilcher, 23, 21 Elm Court, Bolingbrook, was charged with retail theft. Thomas C. Wiggins, 19, address not given, was arrested and charged with zero tolerance/operating a vehicle under age 21 with a blood-alcohol level over 0.0, consumption of alcohol by a minor and driving without a license. Alex K. Jungkans, 21, address not given, was cited with illegal transportation of alcohol. A 16-year-old girl was cited for curfew, and a 16-year-old boy was cited for curfew and consumption of alcohol by a minor.
