Elmhurst Police Make Arrests for Outstanding Warrants and Prostitution

Police also report incidents of damage to property and a runaway patient from Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.

Warrant Arrests

Jeffrey B. Roman, 22, 632 N. Ellsworth Ave., Addison, was found to have two outstanding warrants out of DuPage County for failure to appear on two separate charges after police found him riding his bicycle down York Road in his pajamas at 2:24 a.m. Oct. 19. Roman reportedly said he had been writing a paper and needed to get out to "clear his mind." He was cited locally for equipment violation for having no headlight on his bicycle and then taken to DuPage County Jail.

Raul Gutierrez, 24, 2 N. Garfield St. No. 2, Lombard, was arrested and taken to DuPage County Jail after a traffic stop for no rear registration plate light at 1:05 a.m. Oct. 20 at St. Charles Road and Villa Avenue. Police discovered he had two valid warrants out of DuPage County.

Michael Keenan, last known address 4940 N. Winthrop, Chicago, was found to have a warrant for failure to appear out of Oak Park. While patrolling the area of St. Charles Road and Route 83 at 2 a.m. Oct. 23, police said Keenan walked in front of the officer's vehicle, causing him to have to stop quickly to avoid striking him. Keenan proceeded to walk southbound on Route 83. The officer asked him if he needed help, and he reportedly said he was going to Oak Park. He was released to Oak Park officers.

Tai H. Montgomery, 28, 226 S. 26th Ave., Bellwood, was pulled over for driving without headlights at 11:30 p.m. Oct. 23 at North Avenue and Addison Street. Initially, he reportedly provided a false name and date of birth. He eventually provided his identity and was found to be driving on a suspended license. He also had two active warrants out of Cook County. He was arrested and charged under state charges for driving while liense suspended, no headlights and obstructing justice. He posted bond and was released.

Prostitution Arrests

Shiree Jarvis, 20, 1706 Fieldstone Drive, Shorewood, was arrested and charged with prostitution at 5:47 p.m. Oct. 19 at Holiday Inn, 624 N. York Road. Officers responded to a Backpage.com advertisement allegedly placed by Jarvis and went to the Holiday Inn to meet her. Jarvis allegedly agreed to perform a sexual act for $100. She was released on I-bond.

Kaleem Hasam, 51, 1771 Devon Drive, Glendale Heights, was arrested and charged with patronizing a prostitute at 9:35 p.m. Oct. 19. He arrived at an undisclosed location and allegedly paid $70 for sex. He was taken to the police station and released with a court date.

Mukesh Patel, 50, 735 Jody Lane, Hoffman Estates, called a phone number posted on Backpage.com for "Jasmine." Patel arrived at the hotel and was taken to the station, where he was charged with patronizing a prostitute. He was released on I-bond.

Runaway Patient

Police responded to a call for a suicidal subject who fled from Elmhurst Memorial Hospital, 200 Berteau, at 8:45 p.m. Oct. 25. Police located the person and took them back to the hospital.

Damage to Property

Someone used a metal rod to damage a garage door of a home on the 300 block of Myrtle between 8 and 10 p.m. Oct. 13.

Someone used green spray paint to paint an obscene image on the street next to a manhole cover on the 300 block of South Kenilworth. A political sign on the property also was spray painted green, but the complainant wasn't concerned about that as much. The incident was reported at 2:59 p.m. Oct. 25.
