Elmhurst Police: Drunken Driver Curses at Union Demonstrators, Stops Net Heroin, Cocaine

Arrests reported June 28-July 4.

DUI Arrests

Carrie A. McCombs-Glenn, 43, 12435 Heritage Meadows, Plainfield, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police pulled over her blue Honda Civic for improper lane use on Roosevelt Road between York and Route 83 at 5:25 a.m. June 28. She was released on bond.

Andrew Smith, 43, 615 W. Fay, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over his silver Acura for improper lane use at Fremont and York at 12:28 a.m. June 29. He was released on bond.

Victorino Rosas, 31, 2507 N. New England Ave., Chicago, was arrested and charged with DUI, driving without a license, driving without insurance and illegal transportation of alcohol after police pulled over his red GMC Sierra for speeding and improper lane use at North and Oak at 4:55 a.m. June 29. A passenger, Armando Gomez-Ortiz, 40, of the same address, was arrested and charged with illegal transportation of alcohol. Both were released on bond.

Ramon Martinez, 25, 1601 Reckinger Road Apt. 4A, Aurora, was arrested and charged with DUI and driving without a license after police said they found him passed out behind the wheel of his black Lincoln Continental with the vehicle running on the 600 block of North Michigan at 5:43 a.m. June 30. He was released on bond.

Patrick Shaw, 30, 552 Fern, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with DUI and disorderly conduct after police said he was yelling at union workers picketing at Washington Park, Poplar and May, at 8:07 a.m. July 2. Police said he was very upset and "using a lot of profanity." Shaw said he has veteran friends who can't find work, yet "these men are getting paid for sitting in their Spongebob Squarepants chairs picketing." Police said the victims recorded seven minutes of the yelling. When police caught up with Shaw, they said he was driving his silver Dodge Ram over curbs.

Paul Lococo, 22, 1129 Homestead, LaGrange Park, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over his white Pontiac Sunfire for no rear plate light at St. Charles and West Avenue at 1:25 a.m. July 4. He was released on bond.

Joanna Fuka, 19, 582 Fairview, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with DUI and consumption of alcohol by a minor after police pulled her over for failure to signal at Second and Elm at 1:58 a.m. July 4. A juvenile passenger also was arrested for consumption of alcohol by a minor. They were both released on bond.

Anthony Mueller, 24, 1030 S. Fairfield Ave., Lombard, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over his white Ford F150 for improper lane use at Brush Hill and Euclid at 3:56 a.m. July 4. He was released on bond.

Sotero Perez, 49, 1405 Winifred, Joliet, was arrested and charged with DUI and driving without insurance after police pulled over his silver Ford F150 for failure to signal and driving without lights on the 100 block of East Butterfield at 10:47 p.m. July 4. He was released on bond. 

Reckless Driving

Andrew K. Milne, 27, 107 W. Monroe, Villa Park, was arrested and charged with reckless driving and failure to report an accident after his blue Chevrolet truck struck a sign on the 100 block of Fellows Court at 1:12 p.m. June 29. He was released on bond.

Possession of a Controlled Substance

Rafael Abrue, 49, 107 S. Villa Apt. 14, Addison, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) after police pulled him over for speeding and failure to signal at North and Villa at 3:24 a.m. June 30. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Jose Alvarez, 19, 68 W. Elizabeth Apt. 5, Addison, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license, possession of a controlled substance and possession of cannabis after police pulled over his silver Ford Escort for speeding at Interstate 290 and Route 83 at 8:55 p.m. July 2. Passenger, Jose Espinosa, 26, 659 Briar Hill Apt. 4, Addison, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a hypodermic needle and possession of drug paraphernalia, and passenger Karla Garcia, 25, 68 W. Elizabeth Apt. 5, Addison, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. Police said they found heroin in the vehicle. They all were taken to DuPage County Jail.

Possession of Cannabis

Rachel Tuszynski, 25, 1301 Argyle Apt. 206, Chicago, Courtney Gordon, 25, of the same address, were arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia, after police pulled over their vehicle on the 100 block of North York at 12:34 a.m. July 1. Gordon also was charged with driving without insurance. Both were released on bond.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Laura Y. Porras, 20, 10413 W. Palmer, Melrose Park, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after police responded to a suspicious vehicle parked at Country Inn Suites, County Line and Grand, at 7:19 p.m. June 29. She was released on bond.
