Elmhurst Police Charge Man with Endangering the Life of a Child

Heroin and children don't mix.

Elmhurst police arrested a Batavia man Monday after they said he was driving under the influence of drugs with a child in his vehicle.

Police received a call for a reckless driver in a black Chevrolet Lumina at 6:45 p.m. Monday. Police located the vehicle, which had a flat tire, at North Avenue and Kenilworth. They said the driver, Adam T. Wohead, 28, 1171 W. Wilson Apt. C, was under the influence of drugs. Police searched the vehicle and found suspect heroin and a used hypodermic needle. 

He was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the life of a child. He was taken to DuPage County Jail and his next court date is scheduled for Sept. 23.
