Elmhurst Police Send Two Drivers to County Jail Sunday on Aggravated DUI Charges

One of those arrested also was charged with endangering a child.

Gabriela Eugenio-Santiago, 29, 1902 W. 48th St. Apt. 1, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on a revoked license and endangering the health and life of a child after police pulled over her tan Chevrolet Venture for improper lane use and speeding at Interstate 290 and North Avenue at 12:54 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 6. She also was charged with failure to secure a child under 8 years old in a restraint system.

Police took her to DuPage County Jail, where was held on $8,000 bond, and her vehicle was towed for forfeiture. Her next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 4.

In another incident Sunday, Eric Miranda, 40, 5630 W. 23rd Place, Cicero, also was charged with aggravated DUI and driving with a revoked license after an officer on patrol said he saw his Ford Windstar strike a curb several times at Grand Avenue and Church at 2:21 a.m. Jan. 6. Police said Miranda eventually pulled into a lot and drove over a parking block.

Miranda also was charged with driving without insurance. He was taken to DuPage County Jail, where he was held on $15,000 bond, and his vehicle was towed for forfeiture. His next court appearance was not yet listed in DuPage County Clerk's records.

Both most likely here illegally too. It's nice to see them not only behind bars instead of out on an IBOND but that their vehicles were impounded too.

why can't they be quarantined in an INS detention center for 18 months and then sent back to the most southern rural parts of mexico and dropped off with some mystery meat bologna sandwiches?
americans cant even get jobs right now, you have illegal immigrants like this driving wasted on our highways and roads, you know if they don't care about their kids, they sure as hell don't care about you and yours! citizens need to raise hell and contact legislators

Ken and Stewart Levine: Congratutions! You are the co-winners of the "Bigot of the Year" award! You each have won an all-expenses paid one-way trip to North Korea!

Typical left wing response. When you can't support your point just call the other person a 'bigot',
Ken January 10, 2013 at 07:14 pm
Don't worry Stewart. Now that illegals can get drivers licenses in Illinois our roads will be as safe as milk. They will no longer drive under the influence, they will obey all traffic rules and they will all go out and get automobile insurance.

Just did a check of the Du Page county jail. Miranda is still in jail but unfortunately for her daughter Santiago made bail. Hopefully if she is an illegal she's on her way back to her native land without her daughter.

I agree with you but I don't know if we as just citizen's can do anything to stop that practice. IRead More wish that each cyclist had to have a license, and that it was enforced by laws and police, on the bike so that people could report occurrences and have the person receive a ticket just like a person driving an auto. That would make sense.

A couple of years ago, Villa Park installed "State Law- must stop for pedestrians" signsRead More on the roadways where the Great Western and Prairie Paths cross. I saw a big increase in path users barreling across the streets with no regard for the stop signs on the path.

I was really hoping that the Elmhurst Police would sound in on this info-I do understand kids willRead More be kids, but if one of them is hurt, that adult driver will need to live with that for the rest of their life-so let's come up with a solution for both bicyclist and cars to be in harmony. I really think that a step up in enforcement in the bicycle laws would help-just like the drunk driving laws-believe me the bicycle laws are just as important.
