Elmhurst Pharmacist Thwarts Bid to Bag Pain-Killers

A CVS pharmacist told a customer with a fake prescription that he was going to have to check with the doctor's office.

A pharmacist foiled an attempt to pass a fake prescription for pain-killers, police said.

The pharmacist at the 110 W. North Ave. CVS was presented with a prescription for 90 oxycodone pills about 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 9.

"The pharmacist advised the suspect that he would have to verify the prescription with the doctor's office first," police said. "The above suspect advised he would come back (the next day) to pick up the prescription. The suspect has not returned  as of this date and time."
