Elmhurst Man's Water Bill Really High After Someone Leaves His Hose Running
The Elmhurst man knows he turned his hose off before winter.
An Elmhurst man was hit with a really high water bill after someone turned his hose on and left it running, police said.
The North Maple Avenue resident reported the hydro-hijinks to the police on Tuesday.
The man stopped by the station and told the police he received his water bill for Feb. 3 through March 31 "and it was in the amount of $994.69," police said.
"The last water bill was for $190.36," police said. The man "went outside and saw the hose was on and knows he had turned it off before the winter."
