Elmhurst House Ransacked By Prowlers

The break-in was discovered Monday evening.

Burglars ransacked a home on East Elmhurst Avenue Monday, police said.

The prowlers struck between 2:15 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. and gained entry through a basement window, the Elmhurst police said.

A resident spoke to officers but told them she was "unsure what was missing due to the entire home being ransacked and in disarray," police said.

The woman told officers that when she and her father were leaving the residence they saw a gray sedan "driving slowly down her street" that "turned around near her home," police said.

There were at least two men in the car and one of the passengers appeared to be "ducking down," police said.
