Elmhurst Firefighters Respond to Garage "Engulfed" in Flames

Firefighters from multiple jurisdictions were able to quickly control the fire.

Elmhurst police and firefighters joined firefighters from several jurisdictions, including Northlake, in responding to a garage fire on Saturday night on the 200 block of Glade Avenue.

Dispatch reports at about 9 p.m. Saturday indicated that the garage was "engulfed" in flames. The garage services an apartment complex at 272 Glade, which is just south of North Avenue. Police had Glade blocked off from North to Second.

A steady rain came down as firefighters worked to put out the blaze. By 9:30 p.m., smoke could still be seen coming from the garage, but they had everything under control. A firefighter at the scene said no one was injured.
