An Elmhurst woman boxed up her dog and abandoned it since she was planning to leave the country, police said.

The woman, Yeohsy Koh, 47, of 355 W. First St., was charged with animal neglect after an officer reportedly found her dog in a box on North Avenue about 5:45 p.m. Tuesday.

The officer also discovered a "note stating to please take care of the dog," police said.

The officer reportedly linked Koh to the dog and tracked her down through a microchip implanted in the animal.

"The owner stated she is leaving out of the country tomorrow morning and did not know what else to do with the dog," police said.

Koh signed her dog over to DuPage County Animal Control, police said.

She stated that "she didn't know what else to do with it", REALLY? She knows how to pack to move out of the country, get her ticket and passport, but can't figure out how to make arrangements for the dog she didn't want or couldn't take with her? Is this what they do in the country she is going to? She must have not had a clue since the police tracked her down via the dogs micro- chip. Wow, couldn't ask for help or advice, no lets just take the easy way out and not be a RESPONSIBLE person. Thank you officer (s) for finding this pup and following through to locate the person who thought nothing of taking a defenseless living, sentient creature and dumping it along the side of the road. Maybe if she would have called the police department for advice, she would not be facing her current circumstances. I hope this pup has a happy landing to a home where he/she will be loved and cherished.

She should have her tits glued together for doing that. Also should be required to sniff the arseholes of every dog she encounters for the next 180 days.

The rescue group that adopted the dog to her 'educated' her (per legal contract) about EXACTLY what to do if she couldn't keep the animal. So that's not 'neglect'. It's clear, pre-meditated and intentional animal abuse.

I hope they kept her from leaving the country. Or at least she missed her flight. Otherwise nothing will come of this. Glad the puppy is safe now.

What is really shocking to me is that more and more of these animal abuse cases involve women. Animal abuse is a precursor to human abuse. God have mercy on us all. This woman is evil.
