Elmhurst Cops Looking Into Case of Identalty Theft

An identity thief opened a credit card account in someone else's name and charged more than $4,000 at an Elgin dentist, police said.

An identity thief, presumably oneΒ with very clean teeth, ran up more than $4,000 on a bad credit card at an Elgin dentist, the Elmhurst police said.

The crook opened a GE Capital Retail Bank credit card account and used it to charge $4,175 at Smiles of Elgin, police said.

The victim called the credit card company and canceled the account, police said.
