Elmhurst Cops Investigating Bank Scam
Someone stuck a piece of paper over an ATM surveillance camera and tried to complete transactions.
The driver of a dark green minivan tried—but failed—to scam money out of an ATM Wednesday night.
The would-be crooks targeted the Suburban Bank and Trust at 400 W. Lake St. shortly before 10 p.m.
The driver "pulled through the ATM driver thru and placed a small piece of paper over the camera," police said. "They attempted to complete eight different transactions all without success."
