Elmhurst Cops Ban Man From Jewel For Alleged Aggravated Overeating

A free sample freeloader was banned from the Jewel for eating too many samples and a stolen doughnut.

ELMHURST, IL — The cops were called in to cut off a man who was eating an awful lot of free samples at the Schiller Street Jewel grocery store, police said.

About 3:30 p.m. Sunday, an officer "responded for an unwanted subject and found the (man) in the store after having reportedly eaten large quantities of free samples," police said. "He also ate a doughnut without paying for it."

The police did not release the identity of the alleged overeater, who was not hit with any criminal charges. The police did write up a no-trespassing order, forbidding his return to the supermarket.
