Elmhurst Cops Bag Burglar Fleeing From Woman's Garage: Police

An Elmhurst woman called the cops on a burglar she spotted in her garage, police said.

A Schiller Park teen was charged with burglary after an Elmhurst woman spotted him in her garage and called the cops, police said.

Christian Rodriguez, 18, was jailed on the burglary charge and also for allegedly resisting police.

A woman called the police about 1:30 a.m. Sunday after her burglar alarm went off and she saw someone in her garage.

The prowler "then walked out of the garage toward her house near the back door," police said.

When officers arrived Rodriguez made a run for it, police said. He was captured on North Maple Avenue near West North Avenue.

Police reportedly found a door to the woman's car ajar and a flashlight on the driver's seat.
