Elmhurst Church Vandalized For 2nd Time in 2 Weeks

The Elmhurst police have released few details about the repeated vandalism at St. Gregorios church.

Vandals targeted St. Gregrios Orthodox Syrian Church for the second time in two weeks.

Graffiti was most recently discovered on the church Saturday morning.

An officer arrived at the Kent Avenue church shortly before 8 a.m. and saw the "church doors, walls, windows, air-conditioning unit and sign all sprayed in red with the letter (redacted)," police said.

Elmhurst Deputy Police Chief Dominic Panico failed to respond to a question about whether the graffiti involved hate language.

Graffiti was also discovered on the church the morning of May 8.

"Unknown person sprayed paint on the church in two spots on the brick wall and also the west side of the garage," police said.

Just like the last time, the Elmhurst police redacted any reference to what was written by the vandals, but they've tried that before and eventually had to tell us what it was.
