Elmhurst Child Flees Creepy Man & Hides Out Until Coast Clear
The man asked the 12-year-old girl how old she was and offered her a ride in his old tan and red car.
A young girl escaped a man in an old tan-and-red car who asked her age and whether she wanted a ride, police said.
The man in the car approached the 12-year-old girl about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday near the corner of Highview Avenue and Third Street.
The girl's mother reportedly told police her "daughter hid on the side of a house until the vehicle left the scene."
Officers searched for the car but could not find it.
