DARIEN

March 16: Karen Swain, 53, of 7801 Rohrer Drive in Downers Grove, was charged with driving under the influence, speeding and improper lane use at 1:06 a.m. near North Frontage Road just east of Cass Avenue, police said. Swain was processed and released with a court date of April 17 in Wheaton.

March 17:

  • Jay M. Gheewala, 20, was arrested at 3:19 a.m. in the 1200 block of Andrus Avenue, police said. According to reports, police noticed Gheewala driving with hesitation and then saw him turn without using a signal. After pulling him over, the officer noticed he had slurred speech and a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath, the report stated. Gheewala performed a series of field sobriety tests, and was placed under arrest for possession of an alcoholic beverage by a minor and zero tolerance driving under the influence, police said.
  • Nicole C. Oliver, 28, of St. Charles, was arrested at 2:20 a.m. near Ogden and Lee avenues, police said. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and operating in violation of restriction. She was issued an April 24 court date in Wheaton.

March 15: William J. Hennessy, of Downers Grove, was arrested at 2:51 p.m. near Ogden and Fairview avenues, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, no insurance, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was issued an April 17 court date in Wheaton.

March 13: William J. Ruyter, 32, of the 5800 block of Sunrise Avenue, Clarendon Hills, was arrested at 1:36 a.m. near 63rd Street and Dunham Road, police said. Ruyter was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He was issued an April 24 court date in Wheaton.

ELMHURST

March 28: Philip Elson, 26, 4814 N. Oakley Apt. 2, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police pulled over his silver Chevrolet Malibu for improper lane use, disobeying a traffic control device and failure to signal at Spring and Prairie Path Lane at 12:46 a.m. He was released on bond.

March 24:

  • Alejandro Aguilar, 33, 1235 S. Austin Ave., Cicero, was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated driving with a license revoked for DUI and illegal transportation of alcohol after police pulled over his tan Honda Odyssey for improper lane use at Interstate 290 and North Avenue at 2:20 a.m. He also was charged with failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. He was taken to DuPage County Jail, where he is being held on $15,000 bond. His vehicle was towed for forfeiture.
  • Ruth Garcia, 30, 680 Amber Lane Apt. 207, Carol Stream, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over her white Nissan Altima for speeding and following too close at North Avenue and Route 83 at 3:42 a.m. She was released on bond.

March 23:

  • Stephen Kittler, 60, 228 E. Oak, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over his silver Chrysler PT for improper lane use at Spring and St. Charles at 2:11 a.m. He was released on bond.
  • Christopher D. La Bonte, 23, 1862 Somerset Drive Apt. 3B, Glendale Heights, was arrested and charged with DUI, driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance after police pulled over his silver Ford ZX2 for improper parking on the roadway on the 200 block of East North Avenue at 6:07 a.m. He was also found to have four valid warrants. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

March 22: Niesha Smith, 29, 7440 Tennessee Apt. 115, Willowbrook, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol and driving without insurance after police pulled over her silver Buick Century for improper lane use at Roosevelt and Route 83 at 3:50 a.m. She was released on bond.

GLEN ELLYN

March 17:

  • Police charged Courtney Bell, 20, of Chicago with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use, speeding and driving without lights. She was arrested near the intersection of Roosevelt Road and Parkside Drive around 4:40 a.m.
  • Police charged Stephen Dee, 53, of Wheaton with driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding. He was arrested near the intersection of Roosevelt Road and Pershing Avenue around 11:40 p.m.

HINSDALE

March 23: Police said Kimberley D. Smith, 43, of the 4000 block of Austin Avenue, Chicago, was charged with DUI after appearing to be under the influence of alcohol during a traffic stop related to illegal parking on the roadway and failure to signal at 1:32 a.m. Smith failed an ensuing breath test and was charged with two counts of DUI, operating an uninsured vehicle, failure to signal, illegal parking on roadway, and failure to display driver’s license, police said. She was released to appear in court.

March 17: Maureen Hipskind, 49, of the 5500 block of Childs Avenue, Hinsdale, was charged with DUI, police said, after appearing under the influence of alcohol during a 12:53 a.m. traffic stop related to failure to signal near 55th and Quincy streets and failing an ensuing breath test. She was released to appear in court.

LISLE

March 24: Corey M. Vaughn, 18, of 1803 Burlington Avenue in Lisle, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of cannabis at 1:33 a.m. at Route 53 and Burlington Avenue after a traffic stop, police said.

WHEATON

March 22: Police charged Brian Cote, 28, of the 1700 block of Madsen Court in Wheaton, with driving under the influence of alcohol. He drove a tan 2007 Honda Civic near the intersection of Geneva Road and Glencoe Street around 1:15 a.m. when police stopped him. He was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

March 23: Police charged Emily Kirk, 30, of Chicago with driving under the influence of alcohol. She drove a silver 2005 Acura in the 2100 block of Roosevelt Road in Wheaton around 2:20 a.m. when police stopped her. She was booked at the Wheaton Police Department and released later that morning.

WOODRIDGE

March 15: Phillip Campagna, 36, of the 600 block of Londonberry Lane, Bolingbrook, was charged at about 10:06 p.m. with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper turn and squealing tires following a traffic stop on Route 53 at Hobson Road.

NAPERVILLE

March 26: Donald James Chambers, 49, was arrested at 1:59 a.m. in the 700 block of South Washington Street, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He posted bond.

March 25: Jason Paul Loebig, 35, was arrested at 11:33 p.m. near Lacrosse Lane and South Route 59, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He posted bond.

March 24:

  • Teheran Markeith Randle, 31, was arrested at 11:55 p.m. near North Aurora Road and West Ogden Avenue, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He posted bond. 
  • Carey Elizabeth Toth, 42, was arrested at 1:32 a.m. near Alice Lane and South Route 59, police said. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. She posted bond. 
  • Parrish Ardrain Walls, 23, was arrested at 2:37 a.m. near Naper Boulevard and East 75th Street, police said. He was charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol and driving on a suspended/revoked license. He was transported to DuPage County Jail.

March 23:

  • Hung Quoc Diep, 43, was arrested at 12:43 a.m. near Feldott Lane and West Ogden Avenue, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He posted bond. 
  • Amer Grozdanic, 25, was arrested at 2:56 a.m. near Chicago Avenue and South Washington Street, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He posted bond. 
  • Tashawn M. Newman, 18, was arrested at 8:03 a.m. near West Street and Knoch Knolls Road, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of drugs. He posted bond. 
  • Mary Olga Marsh, 27, was arrested at 9:50 p.m. near Ogden Avenue and Dickens Avenue, police said. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. She posted bond.

March 22:

  • Patrick Lous Andrews, 36, was arrested at 1:18 a.m. near Ogden Avenue and Naperville Wheaton Road, Naperville Police Department said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He posted bond. 
  • Luis Eduardo Trejo, 26, was arrested at 1:29 a.m. in the 300 block of 111th Street, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He posted bond.
