Police Say DUI Involved in Weekend Motorcycle Crash

Elmhurst police report multiple arrests for DUI, disorderly conduct, drug paraphernalia and warrants.

DUI Arrests

Giovanni Ochoa, 35, 110 Oak Leaf, Addison, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police said he crashed his black Harley-Davidson 883 at Madison and Swain at 12:41 a.m. July 14. He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital for his injuries and later released on I-bond.

Keith Kogut, 43, 15701 Peggy Lane Apt. 6, Oak Forest, was arrested and charged with DUI after his white Nissan Sentra was involved in an accident at Brush Hill and Commonwealth at 11:42 p.m. July 14. He also was charged with improper lane use, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and injury to city property. He was released on bond.

Nahreen W. Shakro, 22, 704 Haddam Way, Hanover Park, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over her black Nissan Altima for improper lane use at Route 83 and Second Street at 1:55 a.m. July 15. She was released on bond.

Adam Tahir Hamdi-Pacha, 26, 62 Portwine, Roselle, was arrested and charged with felony aggravated DUI and aggravated driving with a revoked license after police pulled over his Toyota Solara for failure to signal at Argyle and St. Charles at 1:06 a.m. July 17. When police pulled him over, he exited the vehicle and began to walk away. He was also issued a parking ticket for parking in front of a fire hydrant. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Disorderly Conduct

Lawrence T. Griff, 23, 749 Ninth Ave., Addison, was cited for disorderly conduct after police saw him urinate on a fence at 172 N. Addison at 1:09 a.m. July 6. He was released at the scene on I-bond.

Samantha M. Johnston, 21, 192 E. Park Ave. Apt. 2E, Elmhurst, was cited for disorderly conduct after police were called to her home on a complaint of a loud party at 12:45 a.m. July 8. She was released at the scene on I-bond.

Lance Robar, 24, 538 N. Edgewood, Lombard, was arrested and cited for public intoxication after police said he was staggering in the middle of the street at Kimball and Evergreen at 6:25 a.m. July 13. He was taken to the hospital due to his high level of intoxication.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Brian James Vimmer, 31, 791 Fox Ave., Glendale Heights, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at York and Lake at at 9:02 p.m. July 11. He was released on bond. Vimmer was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Daniel H. Mack, 34, 6713 165th St., Tinley Park, who was cited for expired registration. Mack was released on I-bond.

Miguel A. Ceballos, 34, 3534 W. 38th Place, Chicago, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after police pulled over his blue Buick LeSabre for no seat belt at Lake and York at 10:13 p.m. July 12. He was released on I-bond.

Warrant Arrests

Trek Whitaker, 24, 491 St. Charles Apt. B, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear out of DuPage County after police pulled him over at St. Charles and West Avenue at 10:16 p.m. July 4.

Michael Roberts, 42, 920 Waller, Epps, La., was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear out of DuPage County after police responded to a report of an unruly passenger on the Metra at 11:11 p.m. July 4. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Edward L. Thomas, 29, 338 N. Ardmore Apt. 8, Villa Park, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear out of DuPage County after police saw him panhandling and holding a sign that said, "Homeless, Will Work for Food, Shelter, Anything. God Bless" at St. Charles and Route 83 at 1:21 p.m. July 10. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.
