DUI, Drug and Prostitution Arrests Reported by Elmhurst Police

World War II-era gun powder also turned at the police station.

Keeping a Place of Prostitution
Tammi Moreno, 40, 2936 N. Keating, Chicago, was arrested for keeping a place of prostitution and possession of a controlled substance after police received information about prostitution activity at an undisclosed location. Undercover officers made contact with Moreno at 4:09 p.m. Sept. 20 and she offered her services. Crack cocaine was located in the room. She was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Disorderly Conduct
Sergius M. Harty, 18, 633 Davis Terrace, Glen Ellyn, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct at 8:24 p.m. Sept. 16 at Kentucky Fried Chicken, 872 N. York Road. Police reported Harty was sitting on the floor yelling and saying he needed a cigarette and wanted to be taken away. When officers tried to talk to him, he reportedly ran toward the door and kicked the bottom pane of glass, causing it to break.

John R. Sieverson, 40, 934 S. Spring Road, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after an incident at 4:13 p.m. Sept. 19 at Shell, 301 W. Butterfield Road. Sieverson reportedly was yelling and using profanity at the gas station. He was located walking northbound on Spring Road and would not stop when officers tried to stop him. He continuously yelled profanities at the officers, who followed him to his home and arrested him. He was released on I-bond.

Aggravated Battery/DUI
Anthony C. Barnes, 36, 610 W. 62nd St., Chicago, was arrested and charged with battery, driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance, transportation of open alcohol, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident at 8:35 p.m. Sept. 17. Police were called to the Diplomat West, 681 W. North Ave., for a report of a battery in progress. Barnes allegedly had battered a victim with his fists and struck the victim with his vehicle.

DUI Arrests
James W. Robertson, 21, 126 Fellows Court Apt. G, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police stopped his red Olds Intrigue at 1:18 a.m. Sept. 16 at 1140 S. York St., Bensenville. He was released on I-bond.

Hector Torres, 37, 180 Mountain Laurel Drive, Romeoville, was arrested and charged with DUI, driving without a license and driving without insurance after police pulled over his red Ford Explorer for improper lane use at 2:20 a.m. Sept. 16 at Lake Street and West Avenue. He was released on I-bond.

Ann Marie Petry, 54, 309 N. Draper, Champaign, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over her black Chevrolet S10 for no headlights and improper lane use at 2:04 a.m. Sept. 17 at North Avenue and Illinois Street. She was released on I-bond.

Oscar M. Gomez, 25, 1544 32nd Ave., Melrose Park, was arrested and charged with DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol, improper lane use and improper lighting after police pulled over his red Honda Civic at Grand and County Line Road at 1:19 a.m. Sept. 18. He was released on I-bond.

Possession of Cannabis
Stevica V. Kondic, 45, 40 E. Northwest Highway #303, Mount Prospect, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and possession of cannabis after police pulled over his silver Toyota Corolla at 5:51 p.m. Sept. 17 at York and Hahn. Police located .7 grams of suspect cannabis in the center console. He was released on bond.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Matthew R. Cross, 20, 530 S. York Road Apt. B, Elmhurst, was arrested after an incident at Vallette and York Road at 2:30 a.m. Sept. 18. Police saw two men walking. When they told them to turn around, they both ran. Cross stopped and was found to be in possession of alcohol. The other suspect ran into an apartment. Cross let officers into the apartment, but the other suspect had gone out the front door. Police looked through Cross's apartment with his permission and found a homemade bong. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and consumption of alcohol by a minor and released.

Gun Powder and Oxygen Turned In
Someone turned in two containers of World War II gun powder and a container of oxygen that was found in an undisclosed location in Elmhurst at 9:42 a.m. Sept. 18 at the police station. The DuPage County Sheriff's Office sent someone from the bomb squad to retrieve the items.
