DUI Driver Crashes Into a Light Pole, Injures Her Two Passengers

Elmhurst police report instances of DUI, domestic battery and public intoxication Sept. 12-16.

DUI Arrests


Justin Carranza, 23, 4923 Michigan, Schiller Park, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over his black Honda Civic for improper lane use and failure to signal at York and Crestview at 12:56 a.m. Sept. 14. He was released on bond.

Steven M. Conness, 22, 579 N. West Ave., Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with DUI and driving without insurance after police pulled over his blue Chevrolet Lumina for improper lane use and speeding at Albert and Pick at 1:29 a.m. Sept. 15. He was released on bond.

Spencer Cummings, 40, 422 Addison, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with DUI and driving with a suspended license after police pulled over his blue Toyota Scion at North and River Glen at 3 a.m. Sept. 15. He was released on I-bond.

Brent M. Webrzyn, 32, 254 W. Lake St., Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over his Pontiac Grand Prix for disobeying a flashing red light at Palmer and York at 12:11 a.m. Sept. 16. He was released on bond.

Peter A. Churchill, 41, 361 N. Oak Ave., Wood Dale, was arrested and charged with DUI after police saw his Chevrolet Silverado dragging two construction cones on the 200 block of North Evergreen at 1:28 a.m. Sept. 16. He was released on bond.

Man Found Lying in the Road

Police were called to the 500 block of North York because witnesses saw a man laying in the middle of the road at 3:25 a.m. Sept. 15. Larry Bebo, 53, 677 N. Michigan, Elmhurst, was found to be highly intoxicated and laying on his back in the middle of the road at York and Belden, police said. He was taken to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital and cited for public intoxication.

Domestic Battery

Trek Ellison Whitaker, 24, 491 W. St. Charles Road Apt. B, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with domestic battery after an incident at his home at 7:42 p.m. Sept. 15. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.
