DUI, Crash Leads to Arrest of Father and Son

Two people were taken to the hospital for injuries.

Ronald L. Biesterfeld, 27, 552 Linden, was arrested after he crashed his vehicle into a tree at York and Crescent streets at 8:17 p.m. Dec. 12. He was taken to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital for an injury to his eye and later charged with driving with no seat belt, driving with no insurance, transportation of open alcohol, driving too fast for conditions and aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol.

Police reported that the accident caused an injury to the head and face of a passenger in the vehicle, who also was taken to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital. 

The driver's father, Ronald S. Biesterfeld, 56, also of 552 Linden, arrived on the scene. He reportedly refused to obey officers commands and became combative. He was arrested and cited for obstructing a peace officer and resisting arrest.

The elder Biesterfeld was released on I-bond. His son was taken to DuPage County Jail.
