Disgruntled Former Hospital Employee Suspected of Damaging the Cars of His Former Supervisors

Also, mysterious man with a bag of money reportedly follows Arby's manager for two days.

Criminal Trespass

A former employee of Elmhurst Memorial Hospital, who allegedly is unhappy about being fired last November, may be the person who has been damaging several vehicles in the parking lot at 1200 S. York Road over the past several weeks. At 11:19 a.m. Feb. 24, police were called to the hospital on a trespass report, but the suspect had left the area in a red Hyundai before they could arrive. The vehicles that have been damaged reportedly belong to his former supervisors. Police said the offender would be issued a no-trespass order.

Suspicious Circumstances
A manager at Arby's, 340 N. York St., told police that while she was taking restaurant receipts for deposit at Chase Bank, York and Schiller streets, at about 5 p.m. Feb. 24, she noticed a beige Honda Accord following her back to the restaurant. After work, she noticed the same vehicle follow her home. On Feb. 25, when she arrived at work, she noticed the same car sitting in the Arby's parking lot, so she instead pulled into the Panera parking lot at 108 W. North Ave. The man followed her there, too, and when she got out of the car to go into Panera, he approached her and handed her a white grocery bag containing $640 in $20 bills. The woman said he told her to "get the money to the bank or police, or you are going to get hurt." The suspect is described as a white man with a small beard, between 20 and 30 years old, about 5-foot-6-inches tall, weighing 170 pounds. He was wearing black dress pants, a dark blue hoodie with the hood up, and a black knit hat. An investigation is pending.
