Couple Arrested for Heroin Paraphernalia, Smoldering Kitchen Counter Draws Police Attention

Elmhurst police also report arrests for DUI, domestic battery, trespass and theft.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Lauren Cramer, 29, 840 Wedgewood Court, Buffalo Grove, and Shawn Glowacz, 34, 25748 Willow Spring Road, Mundelein, were arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after police pulled over their black Hyundai Sonata at Route 83 and North Avenue at 6:51 p.m. April 24. Police said they had drug paraphernalia used for heroin. Glowacz, the driver, also was charged with speeding.

Justin Gallo, 29, 737 S. York Road, was cited for open burning without a permit after police assisted Elmhurst Fire Department on a call to his home for a possible garage fire at 6:10 p.m. April 24. Officers said Gallo had made a fire pit, and a kitchen countertop was burnt and smoldering near the fire. Gallo said he didn't put the countertop on the fire, but it was near the fire that he lit to burn brush and branches.

DUI Arrest

David Burdi, 46, 120 Lakeview, Bloomingdale, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police found him slumped over in his silver BMW with the car running on the 600 block of West Lake Street at 7:42 p.m. April 24. He was released on bond.

Domestic Battery
Yacar Snipes, 25, 982 Virginia Lane, was arrested and charged with domestic battery at his home at 5:45 p.m. April 24. Snipes was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Warrant Arrests
Yurivia Cobos, 26, 340 E. Drake, Addison, turned herself in at 5:32 p.m. April 18 on a warrant for failure to appear on a retail theft charge out of DuPage County. She was released on bond.

Deanna Sanchez, 26, 204 N. Glade, Elmhurst, turned herself in on a warrant out of Kane County at 9:20 p.m. April 23. Police did not give specifics of the warrant. She was released with a new court date.

Criminal Trespass

Ralph Robertson, 47, 147 W. Belden, Villa Park, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass, illegal possession of open alcohol in public and public intoxication after he refused to leave the PADS shelter, 367 S. Spring Road, at 7:21 p.m. April 21. He had been banned for three days because he showed up intoxicated on a previous date. Police said Robertson was belligerent and attempting to start fights.

Theft Arrests

Jonas Pasaulis, 60, 7339 Winthrop Way Apt. 4, Downers Grove, was cited under city ordinance for theft after police saw him remove sheet metal from the side of a parking lot on the 400 block of West Fullerton without permission at 8:17 p.m. April 14. He was released at the scene.

Manuel Acevedo, 22, 233 S. Harvard, Addison, was arrested and charged with theft after an incident at 3:03 a.m. April 18. Police saw Acevedo walking in the area of St. Charles and Cottage Hill. After a short conversation with police, Acevedo headed back to his home in Addison on foot. About 15 minutes later, police saw Acevedo riding a bicycle in the area of St. Charles and Route 83. He allegedly admitted to taking the bicycle out of a front yard on the 300 block of South West Avenue. He was released on bond.
