Cops Take Away Drunken Elmhurst Man's Bicycle: Police

The police said they took the man's bicycle for "safekeeping."

A drunken Elmhurst man lost his bicycle to cops who claimed to be taking it for "safekeeping," police said.

Raymond Doliber, 28, of 388 Adele St. also was charged with public intoxication.

Doliber was hit with the charge after officers were called to the Convenient Food Mart on North York Street about 6 p.m. Tuesday for a man "who was heavily intoxicated and refusing to leave," police said.

Doliber "admitted to drinking a lot," police said.

"A bicycle was taken from him for safekeeping," police said. A records check on the bike "produced no previous or owner" information and Doliber "is not know to ride a bicycle," police said.
