Cops Say They Tried to Cut Elmhurst Man a Break But he Rode Away on a Skateboard and Fell Down

The Elmhurst man was charged with disorderly conduct.

The Elmhurst cops said they tried to cut a local man a break but instead of hitching a ride home he took off on a skateboard and fell down a couple times.

Brenden Carney, 23, of 400 S. Holly Ave. was charged with disorderly conduct in connection with his 3 a.m. Saturday run-in with the police.

An officer determined Carney was "intoxicated" while on West Park Avenue.

Carney was "given the opportunity to leave with a sober driver who came to pick him up," police said, but he instead "grabbed his friends longboard and attempted to ride it down the middle of the street, falling twice."

That was when Carney got arrested, police said.
