Cicero Man Swaps Some Tags at Elmhurst Good Will: Cops

A Cicero man allegedly tried to cheat the Elmhurst Goodwill on the price of five pairs of pants.

A Cicero man switched the price tags on four pairs of pants at the Elmhurst Goodwill and then tried walking out of the thrift store wearing a fifth pair, police said.

Rueben Pineda, 48, of 2304 S. 50th Ave. was charged with retail theft in connection with the alleged 7 p.m. Wednesday clothes caper.

Pineda "changed the price tags of four pairs of pants to make them cheaper and went into the bathroom and placed a pair of pants on without paying for them," police said. "When (Pineda) walked out of the store he was stopped by the loss prevention officer."

Pineda was released on bond.
