Chicago Man Gets 14 Years for Elmhurst Burglary

Antonio White is part of a burglary crew targeting the western suburbs.

Antonio C. White, 26, of 3001 S. Michigan, Chicago, was sentenced this week to 14 years in prison for his part in a 2011 Elmhurst burglary, according to a press release issued Wednesday by Elmhurst Police Chief Dominic Panico.

White had been under surveillance by Elmhurst detectives when he and an accomplice April 4, 2011. He was arrested a short time later after leading police on a high-speed chase that ended in White crashing the vehicle into two unmarked Elmhurst police cars.

Class 1 felony charges were approved in the case, and White's bond was set at $250,000. In additional to residential burglary, White also was charged with criminal damage to state property, a Class 4 felony.

White’s accomplice, Christian D. Johnson, 19, of 456 E. 91st St., Chicago, was sentenced in 2011 to one year in prison with credit for time served for his role in the Addison burglary, according to court records.

The two men were part of a burglary crew from Chicago that targets the western suburbs. They were responsible for about 50 to 60 residential burglaries in the DuPage County area in 2010 and 2011, according to the Elmhurst police statement. Most of those individuals have since been apprehended and charged, police said.

What a piece of trash!!! I am glad the police got him away from society. I am sad though that he did not get shot during one of his way too numerous burglarys. Peoples homes should be safe from criminals.
