Chicago Man Charged with ID Theft After Buying Jaguar From Elmhurst Dealership

Tyvon Graham remains in DuPage County Jail.

Using another man's identity, Tyvon Graham walked into Lucky Motors in December and drove off in a used luxury car, according to prosecutors.

Graham, 24, of Chicago, now faces felony counts of identity theft, theft and forgery after his recent arrest on a DuPage County warrant. He remains held in DuPage County Jail on $20,000 bail.

Prosecutors allege Graham used the man's information to sign for and purchase a 2005 Jaguar S-Type from the dealership. The car was valued at $13,889, court records show.

The forgery and identity theft charges stem from his use of the man's personal information and falsely signing the contract, while the theft charge relates to taking the car from the dealership in the transaction, according to the charges.

A judge issued an arrest warrant in May and he first appeared in court last week, where he was given a public defender to represent him. He is scheduled to be arraigned at a June 20 hearing.
