Carny Collared & Carted Off to Can

A carnival worker was arrested and jailed on a warrant from Missouri.

A worker at the Elmhurst Jaycees carnival was gabbed and jailed after the cops learned there was a warrant out for his arrest, police said.

The carny, 39-year-old Jeffrey Cantrell of 1343 W. Cap Circle in Bourbonnais, was taken into custody about 7:45 p.m. Thursday.

Cantrell was wanted on a felony nonsupport warrant out of Stone County, MO, police said. The warrant carried a $5,000 cash bond, police said, and Cantrell apparently wasn't carrying around that kind of money.

"Cantrell was unable to post the required bond and was transported to DuPage County jail to await extradition to Missouri," police said.
