Bensenville Police Reportedly Shoot Man Who Pulled a Gun on Them

Suspect exchanged gunfire with police after he allegedly violated an order of protection.

A man was shot multiple times after he pulled a gun on police in Bensenville Friday evening, according to WGN TV

A dispatch report received by Elmhurst Patch indicated the incident happened after 6:30 p.m. The report stated two ambulances were at the scene at Route 83 and Thorndale Avenue for "two subjects shot," however WGN TV is reporting one man was shot by police.

Police responded to a home on the 1000 block of North Route 83 because the man allegedly violated an order of protection, WGN is reporting. When they found him walking nearby, he allegedly pulled a weapon and gunfire was exchanged. Officers were not injured.

The suspect was taken to the hospital. His name has not been released.
